What consumers should do: Check to see if you have the recalled product in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased and you will be fully reimbursed by Costco. This recall was triggered by findings by the CFIA during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The product has been associated with a possible Hepatitis A contamination. These findings have not been confirmed. Food contaminated with Hepatitis A virus may not look or smell spoiled. If you suspect you have become ill from eating a recalled product, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recommends contacting your doctor.
